DISNEY SHOWCASE
The Alley Cats traveled to Florida this past week, February 7-10, to compete in the Disney Showcase. The weather was absolutely beautiful with each day filled with brilliant sunshine as the temperatures hovered around the mid seventies. The girls enjoyed the weather, the pools, Epcot and most importantly each other! It was an enthusiastic and resounding yes given by several players and parents to return next February in 2014 to once again visit Mickey and his friends.
The games were held at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex. The U-16 team competed in 6 games and compiled a 5-1 record with their sole loss to the WC Eagles 1-0. The game was very even and we could have easily won this match. The Alley Cats team scored 24 goals during the tournament and with a strong team defensive effort only allowed 1 goal! The girls played well together and worked hard each game despite the heat. It proves to everyone that you can have a great time and still strive to do your best in competition. This is a tribute to the players, coaches and parents.
The parents of each player chaperoned their daughter during the stay in Disney and accompanied the team during the entire week. It was fantastic to have the parents present as part of the Alley Cats family. Thanks for all your help!! Looking forward to next year.
Sincerely,
The Alley Cats Staff
